Ken Malgren has investigated hundreds of fires since 1979. Ken's conviction rate for intentional fires prosecuted in court is substantially higher than the national average. All investigations are documented with photographs of the scene and are very thorough.  Clients have praised how detailed and thorough the reports are.

Ken is an active member of the International Association of Arson Investigators.

Whether the cause is accidental or intentional, Ken Malgren will find the truth about what happened. All fires are carefully examined, and evidence is packaged and collected for further laboratory analysis.

Ken Malgren has vast experience in electrical origin and cause, gas explosions, natural causes, wildland fires, accidental causes, and intentional acts.

As a professional photographer, Ken has developed expertise in documenting fire scenes. He has also developed "blacklight photographic techniques" that illustrate the fluorescence of flammable liquid residue in fire scenes.

Ken has testified in court as an expert witness many times and has assisted prosecutors with case preparation. He takes the time to educate attorneys in the nuances of arson prosecution.

Clients include insurance carriers, utilities, municipalities, and plaintiff attorneys.

Ken has taught fire scene photography to many fire departments, been an adjunct instructor for the National Fire Academy at Emmetsburg, Maryland, and for several chapters of the International Association of Fire Investigators.

Ken Malgren Company's rates are competitive in the market. Rates are by the hour, not by the day. All expenses are charged to the client. Company policy prohibits extended billings by chasing useless leads. Ken focuses on the task at hand and completes the investigation at the lowest cost to the client.
