Company Profile:Forensic Services Division Ken Malgren has been a fire investigator since 1979. In addition to graduating from the National Fire Academy, he has attended many individual training courses. Ken Malgren served as an investigator with the Boise City Fire Department until retiring in 2005. He has investigated hundreds of fires and has the experience to examine fire scenes for all the indicators leading to a complete investigation.Ken is a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators, International Association of Firefighters and National Association of Photoshop Professionals. He served as Secretary and President of the Idaho Chapter of International Association of Arson Investigators during the 1980's.Ken Malgren Company clients praise our reports because of documentation and thoroughness. He has been actively involved in the production business on a freelance basis since 1968. He has worked on major film and television productions for well-known producers and directors. As a producer with Ken Malgren Productions, he has produced over fifty films. His documentary productions have taken him around the world! Since 1994, he has created films in Australia, Vanuatu, Mexico, Canada, and Africa, most of which were under harsh conditions. In 1995, he founded the production division of the Boise City Fire Department. During the five-year tenure in that position, he made nearly 30 training films. Ken has been a professional photographer for over 40 years, developing specialties in forensic photography, fire scene photography, landscape and nature photography, commercial and industrial photography, railroad photography, and micro-photography. He developed techniques to identify remnants of flammable liquid accelerants using ultraviolet light. His location portraits and executive portraits have been displayed in offices and publications around the world. As a grant writer, he has been 100% successful on all grants applied for. He has been a peer-reviewer for the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program from the Department of Homeland Security. Not only does he know what it takes to be successful, but how to write the proposal so the reviewers will give it a favorable review.
